About Hermione

Hermione Granger, commonly known as Harry Potter’s pretty sidekick who often got Harry and Ron out of tough situations using her intelligence. But Hermione is so much more than a sidekick, Hermione is the one who made sure “The Boy Who Lived” was “The Boy Who Is Still Living.” Everything that she did, lead up to her standing alongside Harry as a hero. In the first Harry Potter book, “The Sorcerer's Stone”  Hermione follows a Hero’s Journey not so different from Harry, and she continues to maintain that same journey in the following books.

If it took one word to describe Hermione, it would be, bookworm. She was always reading and very intelligent. She is described in the books as having brown bushy hair and large teeth. Hermione was first introduced as a bossy, annoying girl, who always seemed to know the answer to everything. But even with that bossy attitude and annoyingness, she still had a strong compassion. Even without being in the Gryffindor house which labels one as “brave”, Hermione had a bravery that could be admired. When she was just 11 years old she was willing to follow Harry in times of peril. Hermione’s intelligence, bravery, and compassion, are all factors that make her a hero.
